Office of the President

Glass Breaker nomination process

The president and provost have charged the President and Provost’s Council on Women (PPCW) with the task of highlighting and celebrating the successful career paths of women staff and faculty at The Ohio State University.

Through Glass Breakers we recognize women who not only moved their careers forward but improved workplace culture for other Ohio State women.

An OSU Glass Breaker is a woman who:

  • Currently serves as an Ohio State staff or faculty member at any level
  • Demonstrates career progression within the university
  • Works towards creating a workplace environment that is supportive of women and diversity
  • Expands her sphere of influence by mentoring junior professionals, participating in professional organizations, serving on search committees, or other examples of service and engagement

Nominators submit nominations by answering a few questions and providing a CV or resume for their nominees. The PPCW Glass Breakers task force reviews the nominations and determines who will be recognized.

Typically the nomination process takes place late fall semester. An announcement will be made in onCampus Today and other Ohio State media outlets. Check back for more information in fall 2017.

We look forward to acknowledging those who have positively changed the workplace for women and positively impacted gender diversity on campus.
